A. Yes definitely, provided that adequate notice is given to allow for engineers to be allocated to the job.

Q. Do you carry out Field work?

A. Yes, JCA has supported customers with helicopter contracts on all maintenance issues Australia wide.

Q. Is all work carried out by JCA staff?

A. Yes, where possible all work is carried out by JCA staff in the JCA facility.

Q. Does JCA carry out its own maintenance control documentation?

A. Yes all aircraft log books and maintenance control issues are carried out by JCA engineers in conjunction with an aviation maintenance software program.

Q. How many licensed aircraft maintenance engineers (LAME) does JCA employ?

A. Typically we have 5 full time employed LAMEs.

Q. Can JCA program manage any major modifications / services for customers?

A. Yes, JCA can and has in the past performed and managed major media helicopter fitouts.

Q. Can JCA carry out pre purchase inspections?

A. Yes, JCA can carry out detailed helicopter inspections with perusal of helicopter records for indications of correct maintenance compliances.

Q. Can JCA carry out a customer’s requirements and arrange for an imported helicopter to be put on the (VH) Australian Register?

A. Yes JCA can carry out all airworthiness issues to obtain a certificate of airworthiness and certificate of registration issued for a (VH) Australian registered Helicopter.

Q. What is the Life of Oxygen Cylinders?

A. Life of these cylinders varies depending on their DOT Specification. Refer to the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 Transport for life and Hydrostatic Test Requirements, PHMSA Website also gives you life limits on various DOT-SP Cylinders.

Q. What is the service life of the Firex cartridges / Squibs?

A. Generally Firex Squibs have a shelf and a storage life which varies depending on each cartridge OEM and each application, please contact us if you need to know the life of your Cartridges / Squibs

Q. What are the Hydrostatic Test Intervals of the Firex Bottles?

A. Again these vary depending on the Firex Bottles OEM requirements and application, please contact us if you require assistance in determining Firex Bottle Life and Overhaul Period.

Q. Does the Halon John Cameron Aviation uses meet required ISO Specifications?

A. John Cameron Aviation only uses Halon which meets the relevant ISO / ATSM Standard called up by the OEMS when servicing their bottles. The Halon is Batch tested to ISO Standards by the Halon Bank in Melbourne Australia. Copies of these tests are kept on file if customers require a copy.

Q. Does John Cameron Aviation have Dangerous Goods Accreditation?

A. Yes, please contact us if you require any assistance with current MSDS or advice in relation to your dangerous goods.

Q. Does John Cameron Aviation meet the requirements of FPA and ODS & SGG Code of Practice?

A. Yes: Handlers of the Halon each have a relevant Handling License issued by FPA Australia. John Cameron Aviation also holds a Halon Special Permit to hold Halon on site as well as Halon trading authorisation to sell and acquire Halon. Please refer to the Certifications Section of the website for our up to date Halon Special Permit and Trading Authorization Certificate.

Q. What type of Pressure Vessels can John Cameron Aviation Hydrostatic Test?

A. As long as JCA have the approved data we can hydrostatic test any type of pressure vessel. Please contact us to find out if your cylinder has our capability.

Q. What are the reweigh and hydrostatic Test Periods for Hand Held Extinguishers?

A. This can vary depending on each individual OEM specifications, typically these units have a six month reweigh period and a five year hydrostatic test period. Please contact us if you are unsure of the requirements that you have with your units.
